Something very special for all foodies and for art lovers too
Ever heard the old chef’s adage ‘We first eat with our eyes’?
Well, here’s the amazing realisation of that phrase.
Last year Wellington saw the New Zealand premiere of 7 Paintings – The Art Of Dining, a world renowned multi-sensory dining experience brought direct to New Zealand from the dining rooms and salons of Europe.
Blending iconic artworks, digital visuals, fine cuisine, and storytelling, this two-and a half hour interactive dinner journey transforms each course into a masterpiece.
Across seven small courses, seven legendary artists (from Michelangelo and Picasso to Dali and Van Gogh) are brought to life through gourmet dishes paired with immersive projections, music, and playful interactive elements that will keep you transfixed. And all staged live on your table.
Expect pan seared snapper with lemon beurre blanc in honour of Pablo Picasso, herb-crusted lamb shoulder a la Warhol, and even pistachio kunefe tart with Lewis Road burnt butter ice cream for Salvador Dali (presented in a terribly surreal way, of course).
Yes, it really is as wild as it sounds. And every perfectly formed course is delicious.
Hosted at Auckland’s Naumi Hotel – that most arty of hotels – on Thursday 28th May, we’ll overnight with them after the dinner/show & return home the following day.
So, if you’ve been looking for the perfect one-of-a-kind occasion, this is it!
