Step back in time and enjoy a relaxed country outing to the charming Scandinavian settlement of Norsewood. Nestled among rolling rural landscapes, this delightful village offers a glimpse into the history and heritage of one of New Zealand’s most unique communities.
We’ll begin the day visiting the Norsewood Pioneer Museum and other heritage buildings in the heart of the village, where fascinating stories and displays bring the area’s early settler history to life. We’ll visit the New Zealand Natural Clothing, home of renowned outdoors clothing brand Norsewood. For those not so retail-therapy inclined, there’s time to enjoy a gentle stroll through the nearby restored Wop Wops Wetland.
A hearty hot lunch awaits at the Dannevirke Services & Citizens Club before we enjoy a leisurely journey home through the beautiful Central Hawke’s Bay countryside.
With history, country hospitality, good food, and great company, this is the perfect winter day out.
