It has been a very long time since we went to Cross Hills Gardens Country Fair. Just north of Kimbolton in the Rangitikei district is a garden whose reputation has spread far and wide. Cross Hills has developed into not only a sequence of themed gardens, but also a renowned nursery – all set over 18 acres. Still in the Wilson family and now run by the second and third generations, Cross Hills remains a magnificent destination guaranteed to excite all the visitors’ senses. And each November more than 200 artists, makers, creators and growers travel from all corners of New Zealand to be part of a pre-Christmas fair like no other.
