Big Day Out – Christmas Barn & More

In 2024 we’re once again offering the opportunity to enjoy a visit to a Christmas shop with a difference. In Kairanga, outside Palmerston North, is The Christmas Barn. As the name suggests, a rural barn has been transformed into a magical treasure trove of gifts and decorations including over 20 individually themed decorated Christmas trees. But before all this, we visit Villa Candotti – a little piece of Tuscany hidden away in Colyton – for a garden tour with the owner before we have lunch at The Herb Garden Cafe. Then it’s ‘Jingle all the way’ to The Christmas Barn. With one-off items sourced exclusively for them, there’s inspiration and imagination aplenty. We’ll meet the owners who will talk about the barn’s transformation and there’ll be plenty of time to pick up the odd Christmas gift or that special, unique Christmas decoration for you to add to the family tree.
