What's Included

Join Bay Tours for a fascinating day of gardens, history, country hospitality, and unique discoveries as we explore some of Central Hawke’s Bay’s perennial gems.

Our day begins at the beautiful Gwavas Homestead & Woodland Garden, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour with the fifth-generation owners and hear the remarkable stories behind this historic property before sitting down to a delightful High Tea. Surrounded by magnificent gardens, legacy trees and rich rural heritage, it’s the perfect way to start our adventure.

We’ll then travel to Norsewood, the home of iconic outdoor clothing brand Norsewear, with time to browse the popular and locally owned New Zealand Natural Clothing store, renowned for its quality New Zealand-made products.

The afternoon takes us to one of the region’s most intriguing private collections. Lex and Angela Severinsen’s Private Museum at Ashley Clinton is packed with fascinating memorabilia, historical artefacts, hunting treasures, and stories from a lifetime of collecting. The visit includes a guided talk, refreshments, and a few surprises that make this museum unlike any other.

Combining beautiful gardens, local history, country charm, and unique experiences, this is a wonderful day out for those who enjoy discovering the extraordinary stories hidden within our own backyard.
