Our journey begins with lakeside morning tea at Wharewaka Point, before ascending Mt Ruapehu via the Sky Waka Gondola to 2,020m for a high tea with altitude. Choose from a selection of sweet and savoury treats—perhaps adding a prosecco or gin for a touch of indulgence—as you soak in sweeping alpine views.
From there, we travel to the remote and stunning Blue Duck Station. After check-in, adventure awaits with a 2-hour guided ATV bush safari exploring deep forest, river gorges, and native conservation sites. This off-road journey gives you an up-close perspective of the wild beauty that defines this remarkable property.
As evening falls, you’ll be welcomed to the acclaimed Chef’s Table—an exclusive, elevated dining experience showcasing ingredients grown, foraged or farmed onsite. Over 3–4 luxurious hours, you’ll be treated to a multi-course tasting menu, served with a view over untouched wilderness under a setting sun.
Guests in the hilltop cabins will enjoy a gourmet breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. After descending from your elevated retreat, we begin our return journey with a coffee break in National Park and a relaxed lakeside lunch at the Lake House Eatery in Tokaanu.
