For more than 130 years the McHardy family have farmed at Aramoana on Hawke’s Bay’s southern coast. Today Katie McHardy and her family still live in the magnificent 1894 homestead and Katie runs a florist business focused on special occasion bouquets of blooms all grown in her own garden. Join us as we spend a day in late summer with Katie, firstly in her flower farm where she’ll talk about what makes the perfect cut flower – offering plenty of gardening tips along the way – and then it’s up to the homestead for morning tea and a demonstration on how to build the perfect bouquet. After this it’s your turn to get creative making your own arrangements with an abundant selection of Katies homegrown flowers. We finish with a delicious lunch on the verandah with spectacular sea views. This is a great opportunity to both visit a part of Hawke’s Bay we don’t often get to, and to unleash our creative senses using the glorious bounty of nature.
