There’s something magical about Lake Waikaremoana. It seems at the same time familiar and inaccessible. One of the wonderful playgrounds for generations of Hawke’s Bay people, recent climatic and other events have made it less visited than in the past. On this trip we’ll take a picnic lunch, pack up the chairs and head for beautiful Onepoto Bay on the lake. And what better time of the year to visit than high summer. On the way we’ll enjoy a morning cuppa – and the views – at the spectacular Mohaka Viaduct and stop off for a photo stop at the isolated Tuai Power Station as well. Come and enjoy a day in the northern Hawke’s Bay back country.
