This extraordinary 13-day journey begins in the relaxed charm of Adelaide, flows into the serene waters of the Murray River with a Murray Princess cruise for 4 nights.
Then it’s off to the brand new Monarto Safari Park, right in the middle of the world’s largest open-range safari park outside Africa. We’ll experience a sunset game drive with drinks and canapes, just as you would on safari in Kenya or Botswana. Then it’s crossing the country from Adelaide to Sydney with 2 nights on the luxurious Indian Pacific as we head towards home.

The boat’s Cabins each have a private bathroom ensuite, electric blankets, soap, shampoo, hairdryers, air-conditioning, towels, and daily servicing. Each cabin is approximately 12 sq metres.
Each cabin has twin bedding and opens onto the outside deck walkway with picture windows to view the passing scenery.
Day 1: We begin with an afternoon flight to Auckland, overnighting at the Novotel Auckland Airport.
Day 2: A morning flight through to Adelaide, via Melbourne. We’re met on arrival and set off for a sightseeing tour of the city. Tonight’s accommodation is Crowne Plaza.
Day 3–6: Following a visit to Al Ruru Farm and a guided tour and lunch, we head to Mannum to board the Murray Princess and start our Murray River adventure. We have 4 nights onboard this Outback Heritage cruise, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy various excursions off the paddle wheeler, including a riverside Aussie BBQ, a nocturnal tour, a woolshed show and more. And there is plenty of onboard entertainment too.

Day 7: Transfer to the brand new Monarto Safari Resort and enjoy 24 hours in the middle of the world’s largest open-range safari park outside Africa. the wildlife as if you were in Africa.
Day 8–9: After a late check out, we return to Adelaide via the beautiful German town of Hahndorf and the Mt Lofty Lookout. Tomorrow is a FREE DAY.

Gold Single cabins feature a single bed that converts to a seat by day, and shared shower/ toilet facilities located at the end of the carriage.
Day 10–12: Enjoy beautiful Glen Elg today with lunch on the waterfront, and free time to wander, before we board the Indian Pacific to Sydney and settle in before our Barossa Dinner. Crossing the border overnight, you’ll wake up in Broken Hill this morning, and a choice of 5 off train experiences today and dinner onboard.
Our last day on the Indian Pacific takes us to the Blue Mountains, where again there are plenty of choices for off train experiences. Maybe a high tea, the Scenic Skyway or the Scenic railway, and there is more. We continue by train to Sydney, disembark and head to Branksome Hotel near the airport, and our last night together.
Day 13: Transfer to Sydney Airport, and then we return home via Auckland
To participate in this tour you must be able to get On/Off boats, get On/Off 4WD vehicles, ok with walking on undulating/uneven ground, extended periods on your feet. Feel free to discuss this with us if you’re unsure.
