What's Included

Join us for a blooming marvellous weekend away as we explore the charm, colour, and creativity of the Wairarapa Garden Festival – a true highlight of the spring calendar. The Wairarapa has some of the finest and best-established gardens you’ll find anywhere.

Once all participating gardens are confirmed, we’ll pick our route to highlight the best of what’s on offer including scenic garden trails, opportunities to meet the gardeners themselves and, of course, the Market Fair.

Day 1: We begin our getaway with an elegant high tea lunch at Tirohana Estate in Martinborough, followed by an afternoon with owners Sarah and Warwick at the inspiring Stablehouse Garden before settling in at our base, the Copthorne Solway Hotel in Masterton.

Day 2: Saturday is a garden-lover’s dream! We’ll spend the day exploring a selection of stunning private gardens, enjoying the vibrant colours and serene landscapes of Northern Wairarapa, each offering something unique – from cottage charm to contemporary landscape design. Immerse yourself in the beauty of carefully curated gardens. A delicious picnic lunch will keep us well-fed along the way, and in the evening, we’ll dine at the excellent The Farriers Eatery.

Day 3: We visit a few final favourites before wrapping up our tour with lunch and a visit to Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre, for which the Garden Festival is a fundraiser, where you can enjoy native bush, wildlife, and even the popular eel feeding experience. A refreshing, floral-filled weekend with like-minded travellers – perfect for garden lovers and those who simply enjoy the beauty of spring.
