What's Included

In April 2028 Bay Tours will be attending Warbirds Over Wanaka for the first time. Heralded as the largest warbird show in the Southern Hemisphere, and celebrating 40 years in 2028, Warbirds Over Wanaka will be assembling a ‘Best of the Best’ flying display line up. To celebrate the 40-year milestone since the first airshow in 1988, the organisers are bringing back many of the top-rated highlights from the shows past to re-ignite the skies over Wanaka. While the final line-up won’t be known until well into 2027, the airshow has a fine track record of bringing together an amazing array of aircraft from across New Zealand and around the world. Modern air forces from around the region also play a big part at Wanaka.

The two days of flying displays are backed up with impressive pyrotechnics and incredible static displays on the ground. Leading aeronautic companies will also be showing off their latest aircraft and the ever-growing Future of Aviation Expo will be another highlight.

We have secured the premium Gold Pass tickets in advance of sales opening to the public. These passes not only get you in for both the Saturday and Sunday flying days, but give you unobstructed premium grandstand seating, access to the Gold Pass marquee, behind the grandstand and just steps from your seat, where you can get food, beverages and escape the elements, a Souvenir Pack containing an Official Airshow Program, branded merchandise and more, and exclusive access to walk the flightline to view the aircraft close up during the morning.

But our 5 Day tour contains more. How about gliding across Lake Wakatipu on the historic steamer T.S. Earnslaw for dinner at Walter Peak Station as well as free time in both Wanaka itself and Queenstown in all its autumn glory. For all those who’ve been promising themselves that one day they’ll get to Warbirds Over Wanaka, your opportunity has arrived. Complete with the quality level of accommodation, meals and service you’ve come to expect from Bay Tours. Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. This tour has been designated Small Group and, as such, places are very limited and will be snapped up quickly. Secure your place today!
